A perfect balance of grace and vigour; the Brut Yellow Label emulates the outstanding quality of the Veuve Clicquot vineyards. Madame Clicquot’s wine demonstrates an exceptional coupling of freshness and presence with a lingering fruity flavour. A fantastically multifaceted and rich wine.
Wine Making:
Founded in 1772, the Champagne house of Veuve Clicquot is not only world renowned for its unique Champagne, but is also heralded as being at the forefront of the Champagne industry. Madame Clicquot herself is recognized for her breakthrough in Champagne production (the development of the riddling rack and the method of remuage) which made the process more efficient and economically viable.
Today, having harvested the grapes, they are taken to the Press House where only a low pressure is used (especially for the black grapes to ensure that the colour does not taint the must). Veuve Clicquot employs the use of six pressing houses and is able to press up to 54% of its requirements on its own premises. When the use of other presses is utilized, the Champagne house reserves 100% control of the process.
The Veuve Clicquot vineyards span for over 380 hectares of the finest crus in the region. Here, vines are purposely planted predominantly on hillsides in order to take advantage of the top layer of soil that receives the most sun exposure. The Brut Yellow Label is a blend of some fifty of these crus and reserve wines in order to give it the incomparable Veuve Clicquot chic.
