Established in 1743, the house of Moet & Chandon has become the definitive symbol of decadence and class. As one of the largest Champagne producers in the world, the company holds a Royal Warrant to supply Queen Elizabeth II. Having won the attention of Napoleon in 1804, Moet has since attracted a devoted fan base of the rich and famous, thus setting it apart from other Champagnes, as an icon for status and quality.
Winemaking:
Moet produces around 26,000,000 bottles of Champagne a year and owns approximately 2,500 acres of the finest vineyards. The grapes of this Champagne are handpicked and de-stemmed and pressed whole to ensure that as little colour possible comes from the skins. This is then fermented in stainless steel tanks, bottled and left to age for three years.
Tasting Notes:
A fair, straw hue with a fine, delicate bead and a rich mousse. On the palate this wine possesses lively notes of citrus with spice and complexity and sweet fruits, whilst on the nose giving suggestions of nuts and cream .
